Flush one, chunk the next, and no idea why?
It isn't effort, and it isn't talent. Most lessons hand you a model swing your body can't repeat, then send you to a flat range to practice it. Your first session starts with how you move, builds the swing around it, and measures every ball, so you see the change before you leave.
"In a single swing evaluation, my 7-iron went from 160 yards with poor dispersion to 180 yards with tight, consistent results."
Owen Campbell. Shot pattern is an illustration of his numbers.
Why it keeps happening
On the range it's the same club, the same target and a perfect lie, with all the time in the world. On the course it's a different club every shot, a sidehill lie, a group behind you and one bad swing stuck in your head. A swing copied from a model, practiced on a flat mat, was never built for that test. So it holds up for a few shots, then falls apart.
"He doesn't do generic swing coaching, but more finding the swing that fits your natural body movement. He makes things very simple and easy to understand."

How it works
You don't need to be flexible, young or experienced. You need a swing that fits the body you have today, and practice that tests it the way golf does.
Your session starts with a body and swing screen. If your hips, shoulders or spine can't get to a position today, you don't force it. The swing is built around how you move, the way a club fitter builds a club around your swing.
Club path, face, strike, carry, curve. You see what changed in the numbers instead of taking anyone's word for it, and you know exactly what to keep when you leave the bay.
Different clubs, different targets and full holes on simulated courses, plus short game and putting. The swing gets built for Saturday, not just for the range.
"Had a swing analysis and lesson with Austin, he made it easy to understand where my swing needed tweaking and was able to help me make those changes very quickly. It instantly transferred to the course!"

Most golfers see a real change on TrackMan in their first 90 minutes. That's what the session is for. But your body has made the old move thousands of times and the new one a few dozen, so the first couple of rounds can feel strange. That isn't a sign the change is wrong. It's a sign it isn't automatic yet.
That's why most golfers keep going for a few sessions after the first one. No pressure either way: you'll leave your first session with a clear recommendation, and you decide what makes sense.
"I had a hard time implementing the change the first couple lessons, but Austin stuck with me until it started to click. Now my swing is getting more repeatable each time out."

Your coach
Austin coaches every Golf Guru session himself. He learned short game from James Sieckmann and Stan Utley, worked at GolfTEC before starting Golf Guru, and still plays to about a +1 handicap.
He also fits clubs, so he knows how much of a miss is the swing and how much is the equipment.
